GEORGIANS - Please suggest a Georgia non-profit for me to donate to?

Q: I'm making a donation as a birthday gift. Anyone know of good Georgia (USA) non-profits focused on land/nature preservation, outdoor recreation, or general public health access?

A: 2 suggestions 1. Good News Clinic Gainesville GA Reason: Health access for those least able to afford it. Sorry I was not able to find a web site for it but phone is (770) 503-1369 Address 810 Pine St Gainesville, GA 2. Caring Hands Ministries www.caringhandsministries.com Cleveland GA Reasons: grass roots all volunteer nonprofit providing basic necessitities of life (and for staying healthy) to the most vulnerable ppl (senior citizens and families with small children) in 5 county area of rural NE GA where there are few other resources. Goes beyond emergency help to helping people become self sufficient. Is the only organization adressing homelessness in 2 lof those 5 counties. The average homeless [perspn in this area is a 7 yr old child which means that half the homeless people in the area are cildren under 7. Last yr there were more than 2000 homeless children in these rural counties. In both cases the organizations direct service to people in need so your money makes a maximum difference. Both are volunteer oriented so more goes for help than for paying high salaries. Both are establieshed organizations with a proven track record and are small enough so a gift will help make a difference to their helping people. Thank you for caring enough to make this birthday gift bless other people.
