Q: Hi, whats the sales tax in Atlanta, Georgia? is the tax the same throughout the state of Georgia? or is it different in every city? say if i'm purchasing goods worth of 100 usd, how much would the total tax be? thx
A: Every County has it's own tax rate. Most are at 7% The city of Atlanta is in both Fulton and in Dekalb County and both of those counties have a 7% sales tax. Cobb County just to the north of Downtown Atlanta has a 6% sales tax. So if you're buying a car or a large screen TV do it in Cobb County and save some money.
