Q: For Atl locals: I myself was a true Vision patron, and now that it's gone I'm having a hard time finding a good place to dance. I like rap/hip hop & pop, absolutely no techno/house! I went to Compound this past Saturday, now that they have a hip-hop night, and I must say it was disappointing. First off, Compound is only a great venue when the entire club is open - including the back room. They had it tented and closed off - it was way too small/crowded for all the people there. Second, even though we had our email passes, we still had to wait in a 30 minute line in the cold. With Vision, I was spoiled by walking right in with our email passes. But that's the way it should be done! We got there around 11, and the place didn't get jumpin until 12:30. May as well show up at 12:30 and pay cover! (Oh and btw you could get it through VIP right away with the email pass, but that was for an extra $20.) My next attempt will be Velvet Room off Chamblee Tucker on a Friday night (or maybe a saturday?) For anyone who has been there: do you have to wait in line with your email pass? How is the music/ crowd? I'm a little sketch about the whole shopping center venue. Anyone's review on Velvet would be helpful!!!
A: I heard they created a new Visions. But I don't think it is in midtown, you might try and google it... I LOVED THAT PLACE
