Registered Nurses or Waitreses who makes more money?

Q: My gf thinks waitresses make more or as much money as R. Nurses. Is she off her rocker? I think so but I need help seeing the other points of view. For instance she thinks that if you go to the restaurant and spend $100.00 she's taxed on that as opposed to only her tip which may be $5/$10 or $20 dollars. Can some waiters/waitresses out there clear this up for me? Thanks

A: I think there may be times when waitresses make more money (like weekend nights) but otherwise, nurses definitely make more money and have more stable pay than waitresses. Waitresses have to depend on their tips, while most nurses get paid a decent hourly wage, sometimes salaried pay.
