Anyone Work at Disneyland or Disneyworld as an entertainer that could answer some questions? ?

Q: Hi. I am looking to be a disney preformer in a year or so. I want to be a preformer in parades, ect. as a dancer, and hopefully a face character. I have been trained in... Ballet/Pointe Jazz Tap Character and have done a few theater shows. I am... 5 foot 110 pounds have brown eyes long, aubern hair and a round face that makes people mistake me for several years younger than I am. Is there anything else I can do to make my chances of getting in any better? what face character could I be? i really want to be Alice or Wendy... is it true they switch off? could i be one do you think! -Thanks to all who answer! If you know anyone who could answer some of these please either leave a contact email below, or email it to me, disney_dancer@ymail.com. Thanks again!

A: Hi. Here is the website for auditions at Disneyland, WaltDisney World, and other Disney theme parks: http://corporate.disney.go.com/auditions/ Now is a good time to check out their audition calendar - they are auditioning NOW for performers for the Christmas and holiday parades. If you are under 18, you need to have a parent accompany you and sign papers and help you get a work permit. You can audition at any age, but they do prefer over 18 for certain characters and costume characters for insurance purposes. Wendy and Alice DO NOT trade off - for Alice and Cinderella they prefer natural blondes, not colored blondes. Wendy is age specific, I believe she must be between 14-18. Cinderella must be a natural blonde between 5' 7" - 5' 9". Ariel, Snow White, Pochahontas, and Jasmine all wear wigs, but you must be again 5' 7" to 5' 9" and weigh between 120 - 125 lbs. They are very specific in casting for face characters, however, they are not as picky for dancers for their parades as long as you have a parent accompany you or proof of age. As for getting an "in" the best "in" is having the most flexible work schedule. Hardest to schedule are the midweek parades as many performers have school commitments. Being able to work weekends (that means all Saturdays and Sundays through January 15) plus daily midweek will give you the best chances of getting "in".
