A: There are plans to re-develop the Lake Forest area and that is partly why the LF shopping mall was completely demolished. Also, some of the very large apartment complexes (built in the 1960s & 70s) along I-10 in the East have been renovated while others have been demolished to allow room for more re-development. How long it will take for the area to become viable again is something I don't know.
