Q: I have to take my five month old kitten in to get an enucleation (eye removal) in the next couple weeks. We have an appointment scheduled with our current vet, but I am wary about having them perform the surgery, as they have erroneously advised us in the past about his care. Has anyone else had a consistently great experience, both for information and care, with any vets in Manhattan? I want him to both be safe and feel safe.
A: I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, that is certainly a very traumatic experience for the both of you! We have 3 cats. One of the best vets in the city that we've been using for many years is Animal General (on the Upper West Side). They will often bring in specialists to perform procedures like the one you describe. Our cats have had to have a few surgeries over the years, and we've always been very satisfied with the quality of care: http://www.animalgeneral.com/ Best of luck, MattBee
