If you have a 1995 fire extinguisher that doesn't need hydro until 2007. Can you hydro it this year?

Q: Please explain to me. I know your not suppost to hydro it until 2007, but some peep's tell me otherwise.

A: Sure can! You can hydrotest a fire extinguisher anytime you want to. In fact, extinguishers subjected to extreme environments or temperatures are supposed to be hydrotested more frequently than the minimum requirement. Sometimes, if an extinguisher needs recharged and it's only a year or two away from it's mandatory hydrotest, we recommend the customer go ahead and test it now, so they don't have to pay for the recharge again when the unit comes due for test. Makes sense doesn't it?
