Q: I need to know what brand of concrete pumps are the best, what type of concrete pumps are best for small scale projects, and where to get them. If possible, what's the best pickup truck to pull these pumps? I understand that one concrete pump can cost thousands of dollars. Thank you in advance.
A: One concrete pump can cost tens of thousands - and that is for the little guys. What do you consider small? Foundations for houses? Semi-subterranean condos? Or patios and landscape projects? If you have access to a good but reasonable mechanic then you can feel better about going with a lightly used one. That will save you money. The guys that do pumping charge $800-$1000 per half-day here. Be wary of a slowing construction cycle. Be sure there won't be a glut in your area.
