Q:
A: It depends on what kind of church you want to attend. If you are looking for a specific religion or denomination you can look them up in the yellow pages and attend them to see if they are right for you. If you aren't sure what religion or denomination fits you, you can call the church and ask what their beliefs are, what kind of worship service they have, etc. You can also search different religions/denomations on the internet. On beliefnet.com you can even take quizzes to see what churches fit your beliefs. What is it that makes a church "good" to you? Some people want a church that matches their theology, some want a church that is big, or small, some want a church that has a lot of activity, some want a church that has a lot to offer their children, some just want a church that is friendly. Many people start out in one church, then find out they want something different and move to a different church. The important thing, no matter what anyone tries to tell you, is to find a church where you feel like you belong, with people like you, who belief in much the same way you believe. And I would encourage you to decide for yourself what you believe instead of letting others tell you (or worse yet, scare you into) what to believe. Good luck on your journey.
