Q: So I want to buy a PS3 on ebay. The PS3 is brand new conditions and it has a Protection Service Plan.My question is if he ships the PS3 with the plan, if the PS3 broke down can I used the protection plan that he bought in Florida to exchange in my local Best-Buy in Pennsylvania
A: Sorry, probably not. Best Buy will allow you to exchange a defective product only if you have the original sales receipt, and usually only if you are the original buyer. They might ask to see the original credit card receipt or other proof that you were the original buyer. If you are very lucky, you might get a sympathetic store manager who would cut you a break, but don't count on it. I'm sure you were hoping for a different answer, but when you buy on eBay, you have to assume the risk that something will go bad. Treat even "brand new" items as if they are used.
