Is it a better deal to shop for everyday groceries at Wal Mart or at Kroger (with a Kroger card)?

Q: What's cheaper?

A: Many variables - depends on what you are shopping for and the proximity of the stores. Coupon clipping is good, but it is not cost effective (with today's gas prices) to drive clear across town to save $0.05. So you won't save anything by driving all around town just to take advantage of the cents off coupons. And once you become familiar with the layout of the stores, you will be able to find what you want. And, remember that generic brands, and store brands offer the same quality as name brands at lesser cost. So once again, buying a name brand with coupon may still be more expensive than store brand.
