Q: this motel would be located in the state of Michigan and would have about 50-70 units, just simple motel rooms, so what would it cost, in general, for each unit and should I consider any other additional costs.
A: I believe the general rule of thumb is about $50,000 per room and up. That can be WAY up, depending on the amenities, whether you have a restaurant in the motel, and so forth. And of course that does not include the cost of land acquisition or site preparation. The Web site below estimates $45,000, but I think it is actually a bit higher in most cases. http://www.modularsusa.com/plan-lobby.htm I hope this helps. Good luck!!
