Q: I'm 13. and i want a job. What age do people hire at in chardon?
A: Under Ohio law, you are not eligible for an "official" job (a job in a business) if you are under age 14. All you can do at your age is to get informal jobs from individuals. You know what I mean: babysitting, mowing lawns, running errands, washing cars, and that sort of thing. Once you are 14, you can try to get a job at a store or other business. But until you are 16, you cannot work before 7:00 am or after 7:00 pm, and you can't work more than 3 hours per day. Of course, even at 14 and 15, you will have a lot of other kids trying to get the same jobs as you, including kids who are 16, 17 and 18, So it won't be easy. You have to dress and act like you are a very responsible kid if you want to have a chance.
