Q:
A: Well, since it's the "holiday season", a lot of retail joints might be hiring. *Fast food, AM/PM, etc. hires pretty regularly, but their wages are nowhere near enough to live on. *Custodial work has regular hours, but can be pretty gross. sometimes it pays enough to support an apartment and public transportation. *Restaurants (the sit-down kinds) offer a variety of options (i.e., "Garcia's" on Madison Ave., some of the other "cal-Mex" type places, "Chevy's", "Outback", etc. offer jobs which might be a bit tough to live on, but the hours are good, and there's room to advance while you're looking for something else. *Good luck on your job-hunt.
