I'm trying to find out what kind of license is required in California to install closets?

Q: The Calif. license board says that it depends on how they are installed, what materials are used and if they are pre-manufactured. Classifications are B(General), 6-6 (finish carpentry), c-61/D-34) pre-fabricated. The business that I am interested in is mostly pre-fabricated, but there is customization (cutting with a Skil saw) involved.

A: By state law in California, if you are doing ANY construction work for $500.00 or more you are required to have a Contractors License. This includes handyman type work.
