Q: I need FREE college hours from an "acredited" college in order to meet the min. requirements for SAPD. I'm broke living off ramen noodles, so any ideas? I only need 12 hours.
A: I'm afriad there's no such animal as "free" these days Depending on what part of town you live on, call the Alamo Work Source and ask when you can attend a session of WIA (Workforce Investment Act.) Do some research and find out how much will it cost to take these hours at a college. Bring that info to the nearest office of Alamo Work Source on the day of the seminar and let the instructor know you want to go to this college. If it's under the Alamo Work Source "umbrella" themn they will pay for it up to $5800.00. So move your @ss because this program is first come, first serve and once the funds run out, that's it.
