Q: Is/was there some kind of boat that would take wokers from north county san diego down to downtown San Diego? It was supposed to be cheaper than driving and parking each day. Thanks. I knew I wasn't crazy. I remember it. No one at work believed me.
A: Yes, it was an experimental, federally funded project that lasted about a year in the early 2000's. I've taken the trip and it was quite exhilarating. It was an hour+ trip for about 40 miles. It just didn't pencil out since the Coaster rail system was less money and faster.
