Q: Let's assume I have a good nestegg saved up, so I don't need a job right away. But, I don't have enough to buy a house. I will need to rent a modest sized place. Maybe a 1br apartment or loft. Not a studio(not that modest). What are some suburbs/small towns that have a lot of rental space, but is not ghettoish, and not super expensive Beverly Hills type. Lets say I can afford 1500/month for rent. What would be the nicest place to rent space in that price range in Cali?

If you're looking near SD, these towns are surrounding: El Cajon Mira Mesa Poway Temecula Del Mar La Jolla Cardiff by the Sea Oceanside Or if you want to live closer inland in small towns, there's: Julian Ramona El Centro La Mesa 1500 range is a very nice 1BR or a decent 2BR 2BA.
