Q: I have family there and cannot get a hold of them. I have been on tons of websites and cannot get streets and addresses of homes destroyed. Please help! thanks.. D
A: I have spoken several times today with my mother who lives in RB. She said the area by the mountain with the cross- very close to the freeway was destroyed.We used to live there. She is now in a condo up the hill from Vons[ by the schools ] and is okay and is not evacuated. It's been a long time since I lived there so I don't know all the names of the places. She said it is very smokey and the air is full of ash.This did not stop her from going shopping. She got the last of the flashlights at 7/11 and made it to Petco to get carriers for her cats.They were actually closed but called her in if she needed something for her animals.That was very sweet. I think the Petco is near Penasqitos. Schools and many stores are closed. If you E mail me I can call her and ask specific questions for you. I am sure all is well. No one in Rb has died.Your family may have just left the area.
