Accounting CPA??????

Q: (Certified Public Accountant) - accounting professional who has passed the Uniform CPA Examination, which was developed and is maintained by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and has subsequently met additional state requirements for licensure as a CPA... What exactly does this type of a person do? Give me some background info please. Thanks =)

A: They are Public Accountants. They make sure that companies are recording and reporting their financial statements correctly, ethically and accurately. They conduct accounting audits, recommend tax strategies, provide financial advice related to accounting, set up accounting structures, etc. Many CPAs deal with the financial aspects of the companies too. In other words they do conduct financial audits. Many CPAs start out working for an Accounting firm and then get hired by companies as CFO.
