Q:
A: My husband does HVAC (installer) and makes $27.50/hour (non union). I know the service techs that have been there just as long or longer make more than him ($30+ range) but everyone making this amount has worked there for a minimum of 6 years. Starting out with experience they would get hired in the low $20's, no experience, mid-high teens. Installers starting out with experience will be paid in the mid-high teens, without experience they are started at about $11.00/hour. I do want to say that this is a very good company with an even better reputation so they always have business. If you are working for a smaller company they may pay less (as they are making less profit). The company he works for is north of Chicago. I know we are not in the St. Louis area, but I figured it is in the same part of the country and the pay there should be close.
