Q: I'm living with a family in St Louis and caring for their 3 children ages 4, 2, and 8 months. I work for at least 9 hours a day but sometimes more and 5 days a week. I do light housekeeping and the children's laundry. I have over a year of previous experience. I pay for my own food and drive them many places through out the week without reimbursement for gas or mileage. I'm getting a salary rate of $400 per week without taxes being taken out. Should I ask for a raise?
A: Yes. Especially if you are not being reimbursed for gas. And when you do pay taxes that's gonna cut you pay down to about 300 a week. Meaning you get a little over 7 dollars an hour.
